POSITION SUMMARY
The Finance Management Controller provides economic and financial analyses necessary for the operational and strategic management of the company. This person supports operational managers by facilitating decision-making and monitoring company activity and profitability.
Success in this role requires strong interpersonal capabilities. This person must maintain close contact with operational staff and forge strong ties with Senior Management and Comex Leadership Team.
MAIN ACTIVITIES
Development of management procedures and tools
Develops and implements reporting tools for senior management.
Defines the main directives for controls and indicators to be put in place, and the reporting framework for management.
Designs activity dashboards (weekly, monthly or quarterly).
Sets up and improves procedures for managing and optimizing the flow of financial information, ensuring reliability of data.
Ensures compliance with procedures.
Analysis and reporting
Obtains and organizes information impacting the company's results; establishes profitability by customer/activity/zone and translates the data into financial elements.
Analyzes company monthly performance by studying deviations of results from budgets and objectives.
Provides insight and commentaries on the company activity.
Development of Budget process with operational departments
Defines budget construction procedures to be applied by non-financial operational staff.
Collects, analyzes and synthesizes budget data from operational departments and profit centers.
Produces budget summary information, formalizing and editing the complete document which will serve as a guide throughout the year for results and reforecast updates.
Integrates budgetary elements into monthly or quarterly results templates.
Supervision, control of inventories and accounting closures
Performs reconciliations between accounting statements and results from reporting and dashboards.
Controls inventory operations of goods and finished products.
Completes economic and financial studies: simulations, red flags, scenario analysis, etc.
Improved business performance
Anticipates deviations, takes corrective action.
Supports Sales team with financial pro-forma & guidelines (terms, prices, inventory & WC requirements).
Follows up on corrective actions to ensure expected results are achieved.
Determines areas of optimization and helps operational managers realize savings.
Implementation or optimization of information systems
Participates in the implementation of ERP modules, definition of information flows, configuration of certain applications, leads project meetings with respect to dashboards and financial information.
Defines interface requirements for Finance controls and automated reporting.
PROFILE
6 to 8 years of experience (similar position: Internal Controller, Manager Financial Planning and Analysis).
Business Schools (e.g., HEC, ESSEC, ESCP), Universities /Economics and Finance Section (e.g., Paris Dauphine).
Proficiency in management control finance and management control information system.
Master in Business Administration, Accounting-Control-Audit (CCA), Finance, Management Sciences, Business Strategy. Accounting diplomas: DCG/DSCG.
SKILLS
Mastery in the use of information systems: spreadsheets, databases, ERP, etc.
Strong analytical skills and competence in data analysis.
Must be able to handle multiple priorities and complete all tasks in a detailed and timely fashion.
Good knowledge of the trades and the functioning of the company.
Fluent in English.
OTHER SOFT SKILLS
Outstanding communication and interpersonal capabilities, able to successfully interact with stakeholders at different levels of the organization, including senior management and non-financial personnel.
Takes initiative and is persuasive; capable of influencing, gaining buy-in and build consensus with functional and operational stakeholders.
