About the Role We are seeking a Contracts Manager to join our Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Contracts & Wording team.
The role requires experience in people management, leadership, and legal and general insurance matters.
The role can be based in Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hoofddorp, Madrid, Milano, or Paris but your work environment will be international.
This role is situated within the Contracts & Wording department, reporting into the Global Head Contracts & Wording as part of the Chief Underwriting Officer's Office.
Your main task as Contracts Manager EMEA is to lead a team of lawyers and experts across the EMEA region.
The role will be responsible for reviewing and drafting insurance contract wordings and related documents in the EMEA market, with opportunities to support other global markets, as necessary.
In addition, you will work closely and collaboratively with local Legal & Compliance and participate in reviews of business divisions to ensure compliance with internal Contracts processes and rules as well as with applicable law.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to various local and global projects, including in the areas of digitalization and contract governance.
About the Team We support Corporate Solutions' (re)insurance business (including international business), in the areas of property, casualty, and special lines of business such as director's and officer's liability, professional indemnity, energy, engineering, and construction insurance.
We work closely with our Underwriters, Client Managers, and Product Experts and occasionally with external clients.
Our mission is to provide legally sound yet pragmatic advice that enables high-quality wording solutions for our clients.
For that purpose, we openly share knowledge and engage closely with team colleagues as well as with other corporate functions, such as Legal, Compliance, and Claims.
In addition, we contribute to digital contract transformation and contract governance projects.
About you - University degree(s) - preferably law - Experienced in leading a diverse team of experts - Proficiency in both written and spoken English (including legal and business terminology) and proficiency in Spanish - At least five years' experience in an Underwriting, Broking, Claims, or Legal/Compliance/Contracts role - Good knowledge and understanding of insurance products and relevant industry and market customs and practices You must also - Be an open-minded self-starter who can efficiently and proactively handle many tasks at once, meeting deadlines under pressure, and working flexibly and independently - Have strong communication skills - Be a team player with credibility and a working style to build positive relationships, lead virtual teams, and support an open feedback culture.
