Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is the team behind the cloud.
Within CO&I, the Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) team is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft's cloud business.
The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects.

The Data Center Development (DCD) Construction Superintendent CSA role will provide leadership of all field related Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) infrastructure mission critical activities and coordinate with DCD Construction Project Manager (CPM), Consultants, OFCI Vendors, General Contractors, Subcontractors and other project stakeholders for proper execution.
The CSA Construction Superintendent Is Ultimately Responsible Forthe complete project delivery of the CSA scope for each site location, including commissioning.ensuring that each project meets the Data Center Development (DCD) guidelines and standards, which may be adjusted from time-to-time based on best practices and Lesson Learned drawn from previous projects as well as industry changing best practice.Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.

ResponsibilitiesSafety Management: Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.Represents Microsoft as a safety leader and advocate on all construction projects, ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., Occupational Safety and Health Administration [OSHA], or equivalent) to ensure compliance and aggressive management of risk.Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment that prevents injury or ill health, aligning with MSFT global targets of Recordable Incident Rate (RIR) and Worst Potential Severity (WPS) rate.Routine site walks with GC and Packaged Contractors Safety Team to establish and maintain a Safe Working Environment.Performs and participates in incident investigations and root cause analysis.Quality Assurance: Ensure all MEP works are carried out to the highest quality standards and in compliance with project specifications and drawings.
Hold the GC, OFCI Vendors and Subcontractors accountable to Quality Control requirements as set forth and agreed upon in their Contract PEP.Weekly audit on the QA/QC documents and COMPASS implementation.Organisation Management: Lead and manage MEP teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among team members and subcontractors.Coordinates with team members from Microsoft stakeholders, EoR/AE, OFCI Vendors, GC, Regulatory Permit Inspector and CxA.Project Planning and Coordination: Oversee the planning, scheduling, and coordination of MEP systems to ensure coordinated, timely and efficient project completion.Coordinates with both internal stakeholders (e.g.
DCDPM, DCE, and QA/QC) and external stakeholders (e.g.
Consultants, OFCI Vendors, General Contractors) for the requirements.Coordinates site conflicts and queries regarding design drawings and specs in the form of RFIs with design team to unblock project schedule.Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and support for MEP system detailed designs, fabrication and installation.Identifies potential risks/gaps and provides recommendations to project teams that mitigates risk and improves overall constructability.Collaborates and contributes needed technical knowledge to Microsoft internal teams (e.g., Engineering, Operations, Legal, Project Controls, etc.)
and general contractors/subcontractors to maintain the corporate vision and goals for the project.Facilitates the delivery of projects (e.g., new construction, fitouts) by making timely data-based decisions in partnership with local project team and key stakeholders.Oversees timely execution of all MEP engineering, procurement activities associated with design development, resourcing, equipment and materials necessary for delivering projects on time and within project budget forecasts.Evaluates MEP resources and ensures adequate staffing and materials for job completion.Responsible for start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting and handover of the project to operations team.QualificationsRequired/minimum qualificationsBachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND substantial years related experience OR equivalent experience.

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred QualificationsExtensive years experience working on data center projects.Construction health & safety knowledge.Solid experience of progressive responsibility in development of Mission Critical Facilities.Experience working for a General Contractor or trade.Experience managing multiple large multi-faceted projects.Detailed understanding of Mechanical and Electrical systems to include integrated testing, MOPs/ SOPs of installation, functionality and troubleshooting; etc.Experience in directing and/or supporting the commissioning effort.High personal standard to deliver a thoughtful, polished and quality work product.Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills.Willingness to travel 0-25% travel.Knowledge of ISO accredited Safety and Quality Management Systems.Construction Management.Construction Planning.Construction Processes.Construction Risk.Scope Management.Vendor Selection, Evaluation and Management.Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer.
