Demonstrated understanding of electrical engineering principles including breaker coordination studies and switch-gear sequence of operation.
Demonstrated understanding of mechanical engineering principles for cooling systems.
Demonstrated contractor and vendor management experience (request for proposals, bidding, change orders) associated with construction and project execution.
Experience directly related to the design and construction of HV substations or large scale mechanical and electrical plants.
Amazon's High Voltage (HV) infrastructure assets are industry leading examples of highly efficient, resilient, and sophisticated electrical systems.
We are the global team responsible for building the HV infrastructure that powers Amazon's cloud business.
As a Construction Project Manager you will be part of a highly creative, efficient team tasked with tackling fascinating and challenging problems building and delivering HV infrastructure assets.

Your work will help to deliver HV infrastructure projects at scale.
The Construction Project Manager is ultimately responsible for the oversight and review of all disciplines including civil, electrical, mechanical, controls, and architectural.
Key job responsibilities: The role will involve construction project management and oversight of construction related activities as they relate to new substation and transmission line projects in Spain.
This will include the ownership of the project scope, timeline, and budget.
Direct interface with construction general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and project closeout/punch list phases.
Work with general contractors and vendors to deliver efficient and high quality project turn-overs in line with electrical utility requirements.
Lead negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals with detail and accuracy.
Creation of construction project scope and request for proposals.
Construction submittal review.
Construction project quality control including the creation of a commissioning plan and support of the commissioning process.
Be a leader within the group as well as within internal and external teams that support the data center.
Concurrently managing multiple projects.
Recording and reporting key metrics to team members and senior management.
Capital requests/financial analysis of construction work including change orders, purchase orders, and invoicing.
Drive teams to perform troubleshooting and root-cause failure analysis associated with equipment or electrical failures.
Negotiating easements/wayleaves with land owners, utilities, etc.
Value engineering: reduce costs through creative solutions with no impact on quality and reliability (new designs, technology, or construction methods).
Travel to sites for leadership walk downs, audits, inspections, start-up testing, and full commissioning.
Travel to other Data Centers up to 40% of time.

Minimum Qualifications: Experience with large scale technical operations, mission-critical mechanical/electrical infrastructure, or large-scale compute farms.
Experience dealing with location-specific electrical utility providers.
Experience of risk and change management through procurement, delivery and handover of design and build projects.
Experience of leading contract and commercial negotiations and administration of design and build projects.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or an equivalent engineering science OR 4+ years of related construction management experience in lieu of a degree.
