Job Responsibilities: This position has responsibility for leading and managing ethics and compliance investigations in Otis EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) and the Americas in accordance with the Otis Absolutes (available at www.otis.com).
This is an individual contributor role, a key position in our Global Investigations Center of Expertise, reporting to the Senior Director, Ethics & Compliance Investigations Leader, EMEA. This position can be remote with a preference to be located in Spain or in Portugal. As an Investigator, the candidate will be responsible for leading investigations into a broad range of ethics and compliance allegations/complaints in EMEA and the Americas. Specifically, this individual will be required to:
Conduct comprehensive, high quality end-to-end investigations into alleged breaches of the Otis Absolutes, Otis policies and/or applicable laws/regulations and report the results of those investigations to senior management.Prepare written investigation plans and reports as required/necessary.Maintain confidential procedures for the handling and processing of complaints and allegations.Provide regular, comprehensive reporting to management to provide up-to-date progress on investigations. Ensure timely closure of all investigations.Convene Disciplinary & Prevention Committees to review and approve recommended discipline arising from verified breaches of the Otis Absolutes/policies/laws and recommended action plans to prevent recurrence.Lead investigations in the EMEA and Americas (primarily LAA) regions, facilitating collaboration with and guiding the investigations conducted by others in the regional/local Ethics & Compliance network.Work closely with the relevant country/regional lawyers when needed on issues involving potential legal violations or regulatory non-compliances.Work closely with the Otis global investigations team, particularly on investigations involving sensitive compliance issues or implicating senior management.Provide supervision and training to local Ethics & Compliance staff on investigation procedures and best practices.Assist in root cause analyses of selected matters as appropriate.Competencies: Honesty, integrity, objectivity, good judgmentEffective senior level communication and interview skillsCritical analytical thinking and problem-solving abilitiesStrong planning and project management skillsClear and concise writing stylePro-active and pragmatic mindset/approach, able to prioritize a busy workloadStrong interpersonal skills, able to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a teamJob Requirements: Bachelor's degree or aboveLaw degree and/or law enforcement background strongly preferred4-7 years working experience with minimum 3 years focus on investigations in a corporate or government environmentExperience in International Trade compliance and/or FCPA would be a bonus.Fluent in English, Spanish, and PortugueseBecome a part of the Otis team and help us #Buildwhatsnext!
