We take pride in addressing inequality, inspiring behaviour change and tackling climate change by engaging customers, citizens, and communities.The Policy in Action team provides programme and network support, technical assistance, and mutual (peer-based) learning and training services to European Union (EU) institutions.We are seeking a creative and motivated Communication Specialist to join our communications team and help effectively convey messages in a range of policy areas, including migration, employment, labour market, social inclusion and protection, education and training.About the role:You will help shape a wide range of communications services including newsletters, website content, social media, and copy-editing, strategies, stakeholder engagement plans, collaborative platforms, videos and other communications tools.This is a very hands-on role where communications knowledge is applied in a very practical way to help deliver large, multi-annual programmes, involving close engagement with EU clients and a wide variety of stakeholders.Your main responsibilities will include:Contribute to and help guide communication strategies to support project outreachLeading, advising on or supporting the development of web content as well as monitor and implement technical updatesDeveloping written deliverables (e.g. newsletters, thematic content, success stories), with an emphasis on high quality editorial work, visual presentation and good design skillsManaging social media accounts, developing engaging contentEvaluating communication channel performance, tracking, and reporting key metricsCreating and sourcing relevant multimedia (photos, videos) to support outreach activities.Contributing to client and stakeholder meetingsContribute to reports and proposal-writing by drafting content for communications services in the EU and UK marketsWhat we are looking for:Master's Degree or equivalent combination of education and 5+ years' professional experience in communicationsStrong copywriting and copy-editing skills and an excellent eye for detailExperience of managing Social Media or other communication campaigns, community management (responding to direct messages, posts)Experience with content management systems (CMS), for example Drupal. Knowledge and understanding of HTML, CSS or Javascript is a plusStrong organisational and coordination skills, including time management, multi-tasking, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environmentExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, including interacting with multi-national and multi-disciplinary stakeholdersExcellent verbal, written, analytical and presentation skills in English (C1 or equivalent) - additional European languages an advantageA C2 (or equivalent) level of English is required
