These operations provide greater value along Galp's integrated business chain, as they seek to proactively seize commercial opportunities, maximize the integrated margin, and navigate the dynamics and volatility of the energy market.About your future TeamThe Risk Management & Control team provides overall risk management models, market risk analysis for new transactions, and establishes risk indicators and limits. This is a pivotal role within the Risk Management & Control team, with a broader view across all Energy Management Commodities (Oil, Natural Gas, and Power).What you'll do:Identify, manage, oversee, mitigate, and advise commodity trading desks and origination teams on markets, operational and control opportunities, and risks.Assist in identifying the significant risks within the trading portfolio, ensuring that they are transparent to senior management.Build, update, and maintain an overall risk management model and policy.Monitor and report risk management limits.Provide independent analysis, review, and guidance on New Business Proposals, ensuring an optimal level of risk/return.Understand in detail the day-to-day drivers of price volatility and the impacts on trading portfolios.Perform VaR back-testing, key variables stress testing, and scenario analysis.What makes you unique:Degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Science, or Engineering, or relevant workplace experience in the energy trading industry.At least 4 years of experience within a trading and risk management organization, including understanding of trading, operations, risk, compliance, and front to back business processes, policies, procedures, and controls.Understanding of financial, commodity, and energy markets, derivative instruments, and hedging techniques. Knowledge of options theory, risk of options, and trading strategies.Advanced Excel user.GARP certification - FRM (preferential).Knowledge of ETRM systems (preferential).Good judgement to provide advice, question discrepancies, and escalate issues.Scientific mindset: identify, investigate, analyze, research, and discuss.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Fluent in English and Portuguese, both verbally and written
