Commis Chef - Luxury Castle Hotel Ireland Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and ambitious Commis Chef to join our client at a prestigious luxury Irish castle hotel restaurant.
As a Commis Chef, you will have the opportunity to work closely with their culinary team, learning and developing your skills in a stunning and historic setting.
You will contribute to creating exceptional dining experiences for guests, showcasing modern European cuisine that highlights the finest Irish ingredients.
Responsibilities Assist the senior chefs in various aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating, while maintaining the highest standards of taste, presentation, and quality.Follow recipes and guidelines to ensure consistent and accurate preparation of dishes.Learn and practice proper culinary techniques, including knife skills, cooking methods, and seasoning.Ensure that ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and used in a timely manner, following the principles of stock rotation and minimizing waste.Support the senior chefs in creating new recipes and menu items, incorporating guest preferences and dietary restrictions.Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including equipment, utensils, and workstations, in adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations.Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations, including timely delivery of dishes during service.Stay updated on culinary trends, techniques, and innovations, seeking opportunities for professional growth and improvement.Assist with any additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned by the senior chefs.Requirements Previous experience in a professional kitchen environment is preferred but not required.A passion for food and a genuine interest in learning and developing culinary skills.Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques.Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.Ability to work well as part of a team, taking direction from senior chefs and collaborating with fellow kitchen staff.Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the demands of the business.
