The Commercial Manager role sits within the Commercial team in WiseEnergy. It is a broad commercial role focusing on the management of revenues, and regulatory and contractual issues for a portfolio of assets in the Americas. A commercial or contractual background with strong knowledge of PPA and revenue management within renewables would be highly advantageous.
It is a full-time role with ~2 direct reports, starting as soon as possible and reporting to the Commercial Manager – NPIII and NPV Lead. The successful candidate will be under a flexible working arrangement from either our London or Madrid offices. The role will also require travel to our main offices on a regular basis.
The role will be focused on managing assets in the US, however will also support the wider WiseEnergy portfolio of assets, including assets in Portugal, Spain and Chile.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESManaging ~2 direct reports based in WiseEnergy's Madrid office.Managing the monthly revenue accruals process and investigating discrepancies, where relevant.Maintaining solar plant compliance with contractual requirements including drafting and issuing formal notices/communications, and if required, investigating non-compliance and resolution.Supporting the management and successful resolution of complex contractual disputes.Managing project company contract renewals and tendering.Managing the regulatory interface and compliance requirements alongside our advisors, e.g. data submissions for project companies under management.In coordination with the Finance team, preparation of project revenue budgets and forecasts as well as supporting the development of asset operating budgets.Responsible for budget follow-up and management, coordinating with the company's finance team the validation of costs and revenues, as well as income and expense.Managing insurance renewals and claims.Managing property agreements, e.g. land leases, and relationships with landowners.Supporting Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) compliance and delivery.Supporting the company's in-house 'onboarding' process for new sites with a specific focus on understanding contracts and working internally with WiseEnergy's Finance and Technical teams.Updating and continued development of the company's in-house Asset Management Platform (AMP) software as required, working with Commercial teams in London, Milan, Madrid and Hyderabad as necessary and with the in-house Technology team.Supporting annual Asset Operating Plans with relevant contract management information and reviews.Reporting to the client and internally and externally as required.Ad hoc commercial projects.SKILLS & COMPETENCIESTo be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Excellent communication and presentation skills (in English and Spanish/Portuguese advantageous) - you must be able to organize your thoughts in a way that others find clear and compelling. You will be expected to put together well-written, grammatically correct emails, presentations and other communications. When communicating verbally – whether over the phone, on video calls, in person or in meetings – you will need to be articulate and engaging.Time management & prioritization skills - the ability to effectively manage yourself and your workload is critical.Fast Learner - Our US portfolio spans multiple states (New York, Virginia and North Carolina) with differing PPAs and regulatory requirements in each.
