Here, you can expect an environment to flourish, develop and take your career to the next level.About the department:In the Finance Department, we are going through an exciting period of growth and we need more people to help us achieve this. We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Finance team. Given the fast-paced nature and variety of the Finance department, there will never be a dull moment in the role.Key Responsibilities:Gross Margin Analysis: Lead the analysis of gross margin performance by product category, SKU, and sales channel. Identify factors impacting gross margin, including pricing, cost of goods sold, promotions, and markdowns. Provide actionable recommendations to optimise gross margin and mitigate margin erosion risks.Pricing Strategy: Partner with Merchandising, Ecommerce, and Marketing teams to develop and implement pricing strategies that balance profitability with market competitiveness. Conduct pricing elasticity analysis, competitive benchmarking, and promotional impact assessments to inform pricing decisions.Product Assortment Optimization: Collaborate with Merchandising, Buying and Product Development teams to optimise product assortment and mix based on gross margin objectives, customer demand, and market trends. Evaluate the profitability of new product launches and assortments to maximize gross margin contribution.Cost Management: Work closely with Production teams to manage product costs and optimise sourcing strategies. Evaluate vendor contracts, production efficiencies, and supply chain optimisation initiatives to reduce costs and improve gross margin.Promotions and Markdown Management: Evaluate the financial impact of promotional activities, discounts, and markdowns on gross margin. Develop strategies to minimize margin dilution while effectively managing inventory levels and driving sales.Financial Planning, Forecasting and Reporting: Lead the development of gross margin forecasts, budgets, and targets in collaboration with the wider team. Monitor actual performance against targets, analyse variances, and provide insights to support decision-making and course corrections.
