The position requires business fluency in English. The Emburse Legal Department acts as an expert service center that helps the company minimize its legal risks by advising sales, product, finance, and other departments on any major legal and regulatory issues the company confronts. The Legal Department provides advice and counsel on a variety of business matters, including contracts and procurement, corporate matters, commercial transactions, and disputes.
Emburse is looking to add a Spain-based commercial/contracts attorney to the Legal Department to support Emburse's European operations.

What you'll do:Collaborate with team members to provide advice and guidance on risks and suitability of contracts toward the attainment of company goals.Support the development of templates, internal procedures, and guidelines for contract management, including, specifically, updating Emburse's Spanish customer terms and conditions, order forms, and related documents to align with global standards, and ensuring adherence to the same.Have a robust understanding of the SaaS industry, contracting structures, and associated risks, including data privacy.Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of contracts including NDAs, customer T&Cs, SOWs, vendor agreements, data protection and privacy agreements, and software referral, resale, and other partnership contracts.Perform other duties and projects as assigned.Collaborate with Legal team colleagues and other departments on regulatory and operational compliance matters.Negotiate and communicate in both Spanish and English languages.Minimum Requirements:Spanish law degree (and be a member in good standing of a Spanish bar) requiredSpanish (primary) requiredEnglish (business level fluency including written) requiredMinimum of 5 years of experience working as a practicing attorneyIn-house experience at a software company highly preferredAbility to self-motivate and manage projects to completion while proactively communicating with stakeholdersAbility to learn quickly and develop a strong knowledge of Emburse's products, services, policies, procedures, and cultureAbility to collect pertinent data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions as well as formulate ideas and recommendationsExcellent interpersonal and presentation skills required to effectively communicate with management, staff, and outside contactsAbility to work independently, and as a team member, while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solvingAbility to present a professional image when dealing with partners, customers, co-workers, management, and outside contactsStrong sense of ethics and integrityAbility to prioritize and handle numerous competing demands in a high-volume, fast-paced working environmentProven ability to work effectively in independent settings
