THE ROLE
Communisis are looking for a Cluster Procurement Manager to join our team in Madrid, Spain; however, the role is mostly hybrid with a mix of working in the office, from home/remotely, and visiting suppliers.
- To represent and take accountability for all Procurement deliverables in cluster markets and to manage the tier 2 cluster supply base.
- To drive Gross Profit performance across the cluster through management and development of the Procurement Managers.
- To be accountable for the deployment of procurement and supply chain management services (incl. approved category strategies) in the cluster.
- To execute Category Managers category strategies and 'book of work' utilizing the cluster Purchasing Managers to improve gross margin.
- To develop local supplier capability and performance in line with category strategies, working with the category management teams.
- To deliver a best-in-class, competitive, and compliant tier 2 supply chain.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive "margin improvement" mindset through the Purchasing Managers and wider business in order to improve gross profit of the business.
- Identify upskilling and training needs for the Purchasing Managers to enable greater engagement and gross profit across the business.
- To ensure the business is leveraging spend with the correct number of suppliers in each region in line with the category plan.
- Lead by example on the use of buying tools and techniques.
- To support Head of Cluster Buying to deliver strategies and plans that are aligned to category plans and the wider business objectives.
- To ensure Purchasing Managers are highlighting spend greater than the prevailing Procurement policy threshold and that these are considered for margin improvement activity.
Supplier
- Accountable for completing all compliance activity for all regional tier 2 suppliers.
- Accountable for the selection and deselection of all local suppliers in cluster in line with the category plan.
- Ensure all suppliers' goods and services comply with the group's corporate social sustainability and environmental policies.
- Create an environment where suppliers can be competitive and thrive.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Procurement and supply chain experience.
- CiPS qualification preferred, but not essential.
- Experience in a busy corporate environment, preferably Business Process outsourcing.
- Previous people management experience preferred.
- Significant Commercial experience in a complex business environment.
- Proven track record as a leader, change agent, and project manager who can work at senior levels within a business.
- Polished and professional communication skills.
- Educated to degree level (not essential).
- Leadership skills, Commercial Awareness, able to influence.
- Networking and Presenting skills.
- Strong Negotiation and Problem-solving ability.
- Project Management experience/skills.
