Your role
In this role, you will lead a team of highly skilled engineers responsible for the end-to-end ownership and delivery of public cloud services through Infrastructure as Code (IAC) terraform modules/templates. The Technical Product Owner will be responsible for enabling and maximizing our ability to exploit cloud for business benefits, while ensuring team's high performance, customer satisfaction, cost effectiveness, operational integrity, and adherence to relevant industry best practices. The role of Technical Product Owner is part of our Cloud Centre of Enablement (CCoE). The CCoE is a cross-functional team responsible for developing and managing the cloud strategy, governance, and best practices that the rest of the organization can leverage to transform the business using the cloud. The CCoE enables Zurich's public cloud adoption and migration, ensuring secure, predictable, and flexible service delivery and operation.
As a Cloud Technical Product Owner your main responsibilities will involve Lead at least one Product Team, implementing services and environments using infrastructure as code, and/or managing operational requests from internal customers.Define the strategy and own the roadmap of the products within your remit. Communicate the product vision and actively seek inputs and feedback from the business.Ensuring that the team(s) delivers high-quality software on time meeting the business goals.Proactively engage and communicate with stakeholders to understand business objectives and priorities.Manage and build positive relationships with suppliers and vendors (AWS, Azure).Removing impediments ensuring the team(s) deliver the business outcomes agreed to.Working with the Agile lead and Product team in maintaining the Backlog and the progress towards Sprint Goals.Lead and actively participate in Agile ceremonies.Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.Preparing reports and reporting regularly to project sponsor and stakeholders, improving transparency to enable the product to be governed based on Zurich's requirements.Provide input to the Management team to drive improvements in delivery, technology, and structure.Evaluate risks, facilitate audits and risk reviews. Adhere to Zurich policies and regulatory requirements and maintain costs within budgets.Facilitate learning and development through individual & team coaching, trainings, and workshops.Provide out of hours On-Call support for production and development environments as an escalation point.Participate in security incident response and investigation as needed.Follow best practice around code management, such as source control, pull requests, artefacts, and deployment packages.Participate in development of security logging, monitoring, taking operational considerations into account.Your Skills and Experience
As a Cloud Technical Product Owner your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Must have a technical background with strong experience in an Infrastructure as Code development or Agile software development environment.5+ years of Technical Product Owner experience with increasing responsibility, preferably within large, complex organizations.Experience of managing public cloud technologies in a large-scale enterprise environment.Experience across the entire software development lifecycle.Knowledge of Product Management tools, methods, and concepts.Experience of working to DevOps principles and in an Agile environment.A strong communicator across all levels of the organization and in all settings (1:1 meetings, workshops, working with third party vendors etc.).Proactive 'can do' attitude, have a code-first/automate-everything attitude.Passionate about trying new things rather than focusing on established practices and inspiring others to do the same.Relevant degree or diploma program of study.Proven ability to succeed in collaborative work environments using Agile/Scrum.Preferred Qualifications: Expert level knowledge of Azure or AWS with associated certifications.Experience of supporting developing test plans and delivering results to schedule.Experience with one or more Infrastructure as Code Languages: Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, Ansible, Chef, Puppet. Terraform is preferred.Familiarity with version control platforms e.g., Git, Perforce, SVN, TFVC. Git is preferred.Knowledge of Atlassian and Azure DevOps toolset.Additional Information
