Job Purpose: Highly certified architect with deep cross-vendor domain knowledge, able to work externally with partners, vendors and end customers to develop complex and bespoke technology solutions.
Responsibilities: Helps define appropriate multi-technology solutions to meet customer needs by engaging with end users and resellers.
Responsible for project management of internal and external (vendor and partner) resources in delivering complex, multi-vendor technical solutions to end users.
Some support of internal and external sales teams to deliver technical quotes in line with defined service level agreements (SLA's).
Develop and manage customer relationships with appropriate contacts.
Co-own and project manage the technical elements of sales opportunities to successful closure.
Conduct customer site visits (reseller and end user).
Deliver sales and technical enablement training internally to Tech Data sales teams or externally to the reseller base (not a core competency).
Respond to queries or customer care issues in a timely manner.
Communicate product and technology information to the relevant audience.
Deal with daily product/solution enquiries from internal/external sales and resellers (not a core competency).
Utilise the Business Solution Centre (BSC) to support sales activity and improve partner utilisation rates.
Maintain technical accreditation and develop wider industry knowledge to a highly competent level (applicable to all technical roles).
Knowledge Skills and Experience: - Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio.
- Experience of SAP R3, Compass and Business Warehouse is desirable.
- Previous experience of E-business systems.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, priority management and planning skills.
- IT industry knowledge - Channel, Vendors, Competition and End User.
- Existing wide knowledge of product and technology portfolios as relevant to the business unit.
