Reporting to the Director of IT Operations, the Cloud and Hosting Services Manager will be an innovation-focused business and technology leader. The role will focus on managing the development and implementation of Cloud-based IT infrastructure, service, and support models. They will also drive compliance and optimization aimed at providing optimal performance to business users across Caldic globally. Collaborating with the wider technology community to deliver first-class user experience and service across the business, the candidate will be a self-motivated, excellent communicator, strong negotiator with experience in Cloud architecture, service delivery, contract management, analytical thinking, decision making and presentation skills.
Scope: The Cloud and Hosting Services Manager will manage the physical and virtual infrastructure required to support cloud and hosting services, including servers, networking equipment, storage systems, and data centers. The role will lead the transition of Cloud Infrastructure and Operations management services to a Managed Service Partner, focusing on contract/vendor management and service delivery.
The Manager will oversee the deployment of cloud services, including virtual machines, containers, databases, and other cloud-based applications. They will ensure the security of cloud and hosting environments by implementing security measures such as access controls, encryption, threat detection, and vulnerability management. They will ensure optimal performance and maximize availability for users and applications.
They will be accountable for resource allocation in cloud environments, such as compute resources, storage, and bandwidth, to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness. They will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, as well as implementing governance policies and procedures for cloud and hosting services. They will oversee planning and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity strategies to minimize downtime and data loss in case of disasters or system failures. They will manage relationships with cloud service providers and other vendors to ensure quality of service, negotiate contracts, and oversee service level agreements (SLAs).
