Created in 2005 by the Generalitat de Catalunya (Government of Catalonia) and the University of Barcelona, IRB Barcelona is a Severo Ochoa Centre of Excellence—a seal that was awarded in 2011. The institute is devoted to conducting research of excellence in biomedicine and to transferring results to clinical practice, thus improving people's quality of life, while simultaneously promoting the training of outstanding researchers, technology transfer, and public communication of science. Its 27 laboratories and seven core facilities address basic questions in biology and are oriented to diseases such as cancer, metastasis, Alzheimer's, diabetes, and rare conditions.

IRB Barcelona seeks a highly motivated Laboratory Technician to join the Amino Acid Transporters and Disease Group (Dr. Manuel Palacin). We are now looking for a highly motivated and interactive technician to participate in the project of the role of amino acids in hematopoietic stem cell differentiation. The contract will be co-financed by the 'Project PID2021-122802OB-I00 Ministerio de ciencia e innovación/ Proyectos de generación de conocimiento 2021.
Our laboratory investigates the role of amino acid transporters, mainly Heteromeric Amino Acid Transporters (HATs), in physiology and the molecular mechanisms implicated in the dysfunction of these transporters in disease (e.g., inherited diseases and cancer).
