Chief Sustainability OfficerGeneral ManagementMadrid (Spain) Ref: QJ09002504 September 25, 2024 TRADE AND DISTRIBUTION FUNCTIONS We are currently recruiting a Chief Sustainability Officer who will be responsible for leading the sustainability strategy and ensuring that the company meets its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) objectives. You will play a key role in designing and implementing sustainable initiatives that promote operational efficiency, reduce the carbon footprint, and enhance the company's social impact on a global scale. As CSO, you will collaborate with various functional areas to ensure sustainability is embedded in every aspect of the business, from supply chain to operations.As key responsibilities we can highlight the following:- Oversee the development and implementation of corporate sustainability strategy and integration into commercial strategy, including working across functions to develop sustainability strategy, targets, initiatives, budgets and operational plans- Engage procurement teams / suppliers on decarbonization and broader supplier sustainability performance, including through supplier assessments and target setting, supplier engagement, process development and improvement, third-party audits etc.- Lead initiatives around sustainability/green products- Develop and lead the implementation of decarbonization strategies, with proven experience with Science-Based Targets, including Forest, Land and Agriculture (FLAG) targets and decarbonization of FLAG-related emissions- Oversee compliance with relevant ESG regulation/legislation- Building and raise awareness of external sustainability profile of a business, engaging with external stakeholders including investors, participating in industry/sustainability partnerships, achieving high sustainability ratings etc.We are looking for professional who will have:- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Business Administration, Sustainable Development, or related fields.- Master's degree/MBA in Sustainability, Business Administration, or Natural Resource Management is highly preferred.- 10-15 years of experience in sustainability-related roles, preferably in the food, beverage, retail, agro.- Proven leadership experience leading large-scale sustainability projects.- Deep understanding of ESG frameworks and experience implementing ESG strategies in global corporations.- Experience managing a sustainable supply chain, with a focus on ethical and environmental criteria.- Experience in environmental and social risk management, with a strong ability to meet local, national, and international regulations.- Familiarity with environmental regulations and international certifications- Deep knowledge of the local market (Spain)- Proficiency in sustainability data management and KPIs, with the ability to interpret environmental and social impact metrics.- Knowledge of packaging and material innovation, preferably in mass consumer or QSR industries.- Experience in product life cycle assessments and decarbonization strategies.- Demonstrated leadership in driving change within large, complex organizations.- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and persuade at different organizational levels and with external stakeholders.- Language proficiency: English and Spanish Apply nowLooking for the best qualified professionals?
