Position Overview: IE University's School of Science and Technology is seeking a senior leader to serve as the Chief Scientist for the Healthcare Impact Xcelerator Lab (IX Lab). This is a unique, high-impact role designed for a seasoned expert with both deep academic credentials and substantial business experience in applying advanced technologies to the healthcare sector. The Chief Scientist will lead innovation and research initiatives, build partnerships with industry, and spearhead education and knowledge transfer programs that address the evolving challenges and opportunities within healthcare.
The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in computer science, engineering, or data science with proven expertise in the healthcare sector. They will have a clear vision for how emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, robotics, digital health platforms, biotechnology, and data analytics can transform healthcare delivery, improve patient outcomes, and optimize operational efficiency across the industry.
As the leader of the Healthcare IX Lab, the Chief Scientist will oversee both internal research teams and external collaborations to deliver cutting-edge solutions, educational programs, and knowledge transfer projects for our corporate partners and sponsors. This role involves strategic leadership, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a focus on driving tangible results through technology adoption in the healthcare ecosystem.
