The Chief Director of Marketing & Sales of Canadian Adventure Charters Ltd is responsible for the success of the Corporation.
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the CEO is responsible for creating and implementing a clear sense of direction for the Corporation and its related businesses by defining, communicating, and overseeing the Corporation's mission, goals, operating principles, and strategic actions.
The role includes developing our luxury explore yacht charter platform, creating and building our brand/product and website, and establishing an online booking and shopping center.
This position promotes Newfoundland & Labrador and The Northwest Passage at charter destinations within CAC's selected charter operations loop, including Newfoundland, Labrador, Northwest Passage, Spain, Canary Islands, Bahamas, and Fort Lauderdale.
The aim is to build a charter yachting destination industry in Newfoundland & Labrador, establishing our yachting hub for various charter adventures, including submarine dive expeditions and underwater film/documentary entertainment focused on climate change/global warming research.REPORTING STRUCTUREReports to the Canadian Adventure Charters Board of Directors.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThis position is the most senior management position in the Corporation, with responsibility for:Managing a successful portfolio of public trading corporations, private, and non-profit entities for a minimum of 15 years, working with Investor Relations (IR) Stakeholders, including networking with Fortune 500 companies.Overseeing a marketing and sales portfolio ranging from $50M to $500M annually.Managing all marketing initiatives, including creating marketing and sales plans, branding and management, digital marketing, advertising campaigns, event marketing, data management, public relations, and content creation.Promoting a positive corporate brand image and maintaining strong external communication with key stakeholders, including investors, clients, media, and the public.Working closely with other members of the executive team to align marketing strategies with overall company goals.Networking and scheduling annual events within the global events calendar for the ultra-wealthy.Building extensive networks in the luxury yachting and submersible industry, including yacht clubs, associations, marinas, boat shows, luxury yacht builders, and charter management companies.Overall management of the business, including strategic direction, preparation of agendas and background information for Board meetings, and its various committee meetings.Developing annual work plans, capital and operating budgets, and operational policies and procedures.Conducting market analysis and identifying opportunities in relation to the Corporation's mission.Ensuring compliance with corporate governance policies and procedures.Initiating, developing, and maintaining strategic relationships and networks with key stakeholders.Promoting and advocating the profile of the Corporation.Building a high-performance culture through effective performance management and communication.Recruiting appropriately skilled staff and establishing performance-based remuneration conditions.Preparing and presenting annual marketing and sales operating and capital budgets to the Board.JOB KNOWLEDGEThe work requires the following education, knowledge, skills, and abilities:EducationUniversity Degree in a related field such as Business, Marketing & Sales, Economics, IT, or Finance.Experience - An Expert and Specialist:Significant leadership skills developed through at least 15 years in a senior management role, particularly in marine resource development, luxury yachting, offshore adventures, and commercial charter vessel management.Expert knowledge of business operations, asset management, marketing, finance, and business processes related to economic and business development activities.Ability to build effective relationships with external stakeholders, inspire high performance, and resolve conflict effectively.Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential.WORKING CONDITIONSPhysical DemandsThe Director of Marketing & Sales will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.
Some light lifting of supplies and materials may be required.
Travel may be necessary, and extended or flexible hours may be needed.
Candidates must not experience seasickness or airsickness.Environmental ConditionsThe Chief Director of Marketing & Sales may manage multiple projects simultaneously and may experience frequent interruptions due to competing priorities.Sensory DemandsUse of computers may cause eyestrain and occasional headaches.
