What does a CGI Real-Time Developer do at Hogarth? Our CGI Real-Time Developer will provide technical support to team members and ongoing development and innovation of Real-Time CGI projects. They will also help push forward the development of our Real-Time workflows to enable global collaboration at scale while ensuring it complements the existing and future workflow requirements of our CGI teams. They will work alongside other members of the CGI teams to develop working solutions by understanding both the artistic and technical challenges they face and supporting them on a day-to-day basis. Key Accountabilities: Work with the CGI Realtime Principal Technical Artist to help define/produce robust solutions, engine features/systems, and pipelines to support tech and artist teams. Profile all aspects of projects including CPU performance, memory, and streaming. Collaborate with content creators to ensure quality results, efficient working practices, and optimization processes. Identify and continually evaluate new software, processes, and hardware to stay at the forefront of real-time technologies and within the Metaverse. Provide engine support to content and code teams specifically for the CGI Real-Time workflow and improve debug tools, processes, and development workflows. Take full ownership and maintain any tools and processes developed and their corresponding documentation, providing training to artists where necessary. This role reports to the CGI Realtime Principal Technical Artist. Requirements: A high level of technical ability including Blueprint and C++. Use the Unreal Engine to a high standard and have broad knowledge of games pipeline and technology principles. Knowledge of using profiling tools to identify memory and CPU performance issues and knowledge of a variety of code optimization techniques. Experience in working across disciplines to implement optimizations and achieve performance goals. Cooperate with creative directors and art directors to incorporate feedback and be able to implement feedback from clients.
