It starts with a rigorous project selection process to assess clinical impact and commercial viability. Once identified, the project is paired with a CEO at the point of incorporation.As CEO/Co-Founder you will drive the project to hit milestones with a strategic exit in mind. Spinal disc degeneration is a huge and growing problem. Currently, the affected disc is left until it needs replacing. The disc is then completely replaced, which leads to the degeneration of adjacent discs, or fused to an adjacent disc (spinal fusion), which restricts patient mobility. This venture proposes to develop a biomimetic cervical disc replacement, comprising two symbiotic elements, utilising new biomaterials - a hydrocore and a textile-based Cervical Annulus Fibrosus.
