CEMEX is seeking a CO2 Management in Cement Manufacture Researcher to join our team. As a researcher, you will work on novel clinker chemistry, modeling of cement processing chemistry, novel binder developments along with CO2 balance analysis in novel production processes. You will be responsible for the development of novel investigation methods to characterize and understand novel chemistry along with thermodynamic and kinetic modeling of cement manufacture. You will also be responsible for the design of laboratory prototypes for novel manufacture processes. Main Responsibilities Lead R&D projects in novel clinker chemistry, modeling of cement processing chemistry, and novel binder development.
Perform CO2 balance analysis in novel production processes.
Develop novel investigation methods to characterize and understand novel chemistry.
Perform thermodynamic and kinetic modeling of cement manufacture.
Design laboratory prototypes for novel manufacture processes.
Coordinate and carry out industrial tests.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver results.
Stay up-to-date with new developments in the field of cement manufacturing and CO2 management.
Identify and evaluate new technical and economic opportunities to improve the existing processes and for novel binders.
Relay, transmit, and pitch technological knowledge to non-experts.
Achieve peers' recognition in the field to assess and discriminate technologies and evaluate opportunities for development.
Engage in continuous learning and stay up-to-date with current trends and developments in the field.
Balance the demands of multiple projects with tight deadlines.
Maintain sustainability and innovation in cement manufacturing without compromising profitability.
Qualifications Degree in Cement Processing Chemistry or Chemical Process Engineering.
Postgraduate/master's degree in Cement Processing Chemistry or related field (preferred).
Over 8 years of experience in QC, R&D laboratory, and field cement manufacture.
Proficiency in laboratory analytical expertise in XRD/XRF, Thermal analysis, calorimetry, and electron microscopy.
Experience in CO2 Management and balance analysis and chemical process engineering & design.
Experience in energy balances and economic analysis of new processes.
Experience in sustainable engineering.
Experience in thermodynamic and kinetic modeling of cement manufacture.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
