FUNCTIONS:Responsibilities:Generate/Execute NPD projects and EPD projects ensuring brand relevance.Design packaging thinking on marketing brief, factory capabilities, supply chain relevant factors (LT, MOQ), procurement cost and R&D requirements.Investigate packaging options and costs (preliminary BOM, Coordination with GSP to define suppliers and costs, provide marketing with input on manufacturability and aspects affecting costs, provide cost of tooling and tests/trials costs, alignment with R&D on the best container-formula combinations to obtain the best product performance.Act as prime interface with plant personnel regarding production runs of products and any problems arising.Collaboration with the production plant/distributions in carrying out the necessary tests to ensure proper interaction container-product-packaging line.Collaboration with R&D in carrying out the necessary tests to ensure proper container-product interaction-compatibility test.Manage with Finance and PMO the cost estimations during all phases of the project in order to assure COG still on target.Attend Factory first run production.Supply innovation to marketing: performance, shapes and sustainability (keeping up-to sustainability trend/available technologies, keeping up-to date with technological innovations).Be the Owner (generate and continuously manage) all documentation related to packaging and pack use:Definition and creation of Bill of Material.Definition and creation of pack technical specifications.Provide technical specifications to suppliers.Define, in collaboration with MKT, the packaging Quality standards (components and FG) for QC use.Generation of filling and assembling documentation.Creation and maintenance of logistic data.Responsible for creating, maintaining and updating the required documentation related to the green dot.Support quality to solve issues, knowledge on criteria of acceptance.Manage and implement Value Engineering projects.Supply innovations to Operations: to improve performance, quality and/or cost effectiveness (stays abreast of industry trends and new technologies, coordinate with Procurement modifications on components technical specifications, background on materials process to work close to suppliers, wide collaboration with suppliers).Promote, push implement and lead improvements in packaging components and associated processes (Value Engineering).Collaborate with Procurement to look for new suppliers and to define the preferred list of suppliers adapted to the new requirements.Support the study and implementations of packaging source changes driven by both economical and/or supply issues.Support the study and implementations of FG source changes (insourcing/outsourcing) driven by both economical and/or supply issues.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Packaging engineering, Industrial engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent is required.Knowledge of Supply Chain and procurement practices, business operation, marketing and timeline is desirable.Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Packaging development and engineering with demonstrated track record of delivering results in a complex environment.Strong ownership and desire to learn and develop, proven negotiation skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, ability to work collaboratively across functional departments.Ability to work under pressure.
