Category/ Product Buyer

Roquet Hydraulics, specialists in the design, development, and manufacturing of high-quality hydraulic systems for the construction machinery, agricultural, and other applications sectors, is seeking a Category/Product Leader to join the Purchasing team in the province of Osona (Barcelona).
Reporting to the Purchasing Director and the Direct Purchasing Manager, the main responsibilities are:
Design the global strategy for the assigned category, aligned with the company's strategic plan.Understand customer needs and stay updated with market trends.Optimize the performance of the specific global category by conducting detailed research and expense analysis.Manage supplier performance from identification to onboarding and continuous development.Lead the sourcing process, selection, and negotiation of costs, terms, quality, and technology.Coordinate purchasing activities across all functions and departments, ensuring alignment with projects.Requirements: Degree in engineering (preferably mechanical or organizational) or business administration/economics.Minimum of 3 to 5 years of purchasing experience, preferably in an industrial or automotive manufacturing environment.Advanced English; other languages are a plus.Computer skills and experience with data tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.
).Availability to travel to national and international suppliers and plants.Negotiation skills, analytical ability, and attention to detail.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Seniority levelMid-Senior level
