About Us Cigar Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world's highest-grade uranium mine. The Role Reporting to the senior mine engineer, you will be a key communicator between the mine technical services and mine operations teams and be responsible for providing mine engineering knowledge and expertise. Your core responsibilities will be planning and scheduling, ventilation, ground control, surveying, and other activities to support production in a geotechnically challenging environment.
In this role, you will: Liaise with other technical, maintenance, process, and site services staff, as well as the mine operations department.Focus on high-quality results and provide direction and guidance to ensure that planning is in place to achieve targets.Bring strong experience in planning, scheduling, and design of underground development engineering to this position.Required: Eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS).Two to six years of underground production mining experience.Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered.Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.Strong proficiency with 3D mine design software (Vulcan).Good working knowledge of AutoCAD, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.Ability to work with little supervision and to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.Recommended: Experience in other underground mine engineering functions (drafting, geotechnical monitoring, surveying, ventilation, shotcrete QAQC).Familiarity with geotechnical monitoring software (RS2, Map3D, etc.).Conditions of Employment: Substance test.Cameco is proud to offer a competitive total reward package which includes: Competitive compensation program with base and variable pay.Flexible health, drug, dental, and vision plan with a health spending and personal spending account.Fixed benefits including employee and dependent life, AD&D, disability benefits, and paid vacation leave.Employee & Family Assistance Programs.RRSP and RPP matching program.Relocation costs.Cameco is an employment equity employer and aims to achieve gender parity, and as such, preference will be given to qualified members of equity groups.
