Position and Responsibilities Working as an electrician, you will be responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment that are critical to the operation and restoration of in-situ mining. Will perform work related to instrumentation and PLC systems including power sources, sensors, communications, electro-pneumatics, and VFDs. Must also be able to analyze and repair equipment, motors and system failures. May be required to work occasional evenings, weekends and holidays to meet business needs. Education and Qualifications Must have a high school diploma and experience that qualifies as apprentice electrician. Ideally, you will have a valid journeyman license and at least 3- 5 years of industrial journey level electrical experience. It is also imperative that you possess the ability to work both independently, as well as part of a team. Applicants will be considered for a level within the job progression, which is appropriate to their qualifications.
Safety is a top priority at Cameco. Successful candidates for all positions that will involve work at Safety-Sensitive Sites or in Safety-Sensitive Positions must take and pass a Substance Test, which includes marijuana, as a condition of employment. Marijuana remains in a user's system for about 30 days, so applicants who recently used marijuana recreationally should not expect to pass a substance test.
