Purpose of the position Participation in research projects in a regional and international context. Development of a research portfolio (Background, projects and publications) and collaboration in the fund-acquisition process. Research Topic Energy modeling approaches in one of the following fields:
Occupant comfort assessment in the context of heat waves and overheating of buildings Short-term energy and comfort assessment for its integration in predictive building control Building Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems Urban energy planning District- and regional-scale energy systems Objectives of the position Publishing in high impact journals (WoS and SJR) along with group members Working in competitive projects (Basque Government, Spanish Government, Horizon Europe…) Submitting competitive research proposals. Contact information: We offer Duration: The contract will be for 3 years. Amount and terms of payment: An allocation of 32,985.15 to 42,000 gross euros per year will be granted, distributed into 15 monthly installments, depending on the candidate's experience. Terms: The contract with the University of Deusto will fall under the associate researcher/investigador/a asociado/a category. Requisitos Qualifications required: PhD degree in Engineering, Informatics, Mathematics, Architecture or other STEM fields. Applicants who completed their PhD from 2019 onwards are welcome. Background in building physics, building energy simulation, urban/regional energy analytics, and/or data-driven energy analysis. Fluency with the relevant modelling, simulation and analysis tools in the field. Fluency in English (C1 or higher) Track-record in scientific writing and publication. Several publications in high-impact journals and frequent conference publications. Other valuable aspects: Proven experience in multi-party research. Participation in research networks, multi-party research projects, and/or a strong international research network. Proven capacity to understand energy systems at building and district scale, considering technical criteria and stakeholders' approaches. Fluency in Spanish (B2 or higher) We are looking for a person with professional competences, empathy, ability to work in a team, motivation for innovation and research, ability to adapt, and that identifies with the mission of the University of Deusto.
