At Destinus, we are on a mission to build near-space vehicles and infrastructure to power the world's fastest transportation network. To make this happen, we are developing hydrogen-powered hypersonic vehicles. This is a unique opportunity to take part in shaping the future of aviation! You will be primarily responsible for developing mechanical/structural systems for subsonic/supersonic and hypersonic flights. You will support the propulsion and vehicle teams concerning the design for manufacturing of various parts. The position requires adaptive learning and problem solving as the engineer will be faced with technical, time and development challenges associated with rapid prototyping of next-generation technology.Tasks: Generate 3D CAD models and related drawings for manufacturing and assembly.Document technical specifics from mechanical design and manufacturing process.Define parts and interfaces to meet the requirements derived from their expected thermomechanical loads and environment.Define the design of the vehicle structure, assemblies, and sub-assemblies, while balancing weight and manufacturability costs.Maintain the consistency of the layout and the building files.Serve as interface between technical teams, quality assurance, procurement, and manufacturing inside and outside of the company to ensure product development success.Requirements: MSc in mechanical or aerospace engineering or equivalent, and/or BTech/Beng with a few years of trade school/artisan experience (at least 5+ years of industry experience in mechanical design).Practiced with "catalogue engineering".Seal and fastener design knowledge.Auxiliary component selection - general electro/mechanical components.Good knowledge and background of manufacturing and assembly processes: machining, sheet metal forming, composites, and additive manufacturing.ISO GD&T knowledge required.Knowledge and experience regarding prototyping.Conduct a more detailed design study (e.G., basic calculations, material selection, tolerance stack-up, etc.).Good engineering material knowledge, and clear knowledge about how tension, compression, bending, buckling, torsion, and shear loads affect structural parts.Fluent in English as working language. Spanish language is beneficial. As a plus: Proficiency in Siemens tool suite: NX, and TeamCenter PLM system.Knowledge of metallic and composite structures and clear background.Knowledge regarding latest prototyping methods like additive manufacturing.#J-18808-Ljbffr
