We are actively seeking a Senior CAD Engineer to join our dynamic team.
The Role: The Senior CAD engineer must develop, deploy, and maintain engineering software solutions such as common Computer Aided Design (CAD) libraries, software application distribution, and standards/process/training libraries. He must develop and maintain the background environment producing the scripting necessary to extend the capabilities of the software and streamline workflows, and to explore innovative design approaches. He is required to develop and maintain automation utilities using Cadence SKILL and LINUX scripting languages. He will also provide user support for the Process Design Kits (PDKs) and the design capture and layout tools to worldwide design centers. He can develop and maintain in-house PDKs and customize external foundry PDKs in collaboration with design teams and technology development teams. He produces custom scripts to set environment and add functionalities under revision control.
Responsibilities of the Development Tools Software Engineer include, but are not limited to: Configure, test, and deploy CAD and Simulation software applications.Provide customer service including, but not limited to, troubleshooting engineering software application issues.Develop and manage engineering process documentation.Develop and provide engineering software training and consulting services to global engineers.Create, manage, and update scripts to facilitate the import and export of data between different CAD programs or between CAD and other software tools, enabling interoperability.Support, enhance, and maintain PDKs and various Analog/Mixed-Signal design tools.Knowledge of LEF, DEF, LIB, GDS formats.Develop software for automation in Skill, Perl, Python, Unix Shell, tcl/tk scripting.Work with EDA vendors to track and resolve issues.Work with Technology Foundry teams (external/internal) to facilitate debugging and proper characterization of tool related issues.Set work areas and repository using DesSync command.Qualifications: Experience with Siemens tools: Calibre, Questa.Experience in all phases of CAD tools from evaluation, QA, testing, release, and user support to documentation.Solid background in programming skills, circuit design, and device physics knowledge to help solve circuit design, layout, physical verification, and post-layout extraction challenges and problems.Experience in DesSync Syncronicity management.BS/MS in EE/CS or equivalent with 5+ years of experience.Good skills in programming (bash, python, perl, csh, skill).The person should be located in Barcelona or nearby.We are looking for team players that focus on the outcome of the team above individual needs, with respect and honest challenge.
