The Application Engineer is responsible for leading engineering projects in support of Chain drive timing systems and Variable Cam timing systems product development.Knowledge and understanding of Gasoline Ignition and Diesel Combustion systems and performance are essential.Responsibilities include:Working with customers to understand their valve timing strategy and selecting the appropriate products from the shelf.Creation or review of product performance specifications or targets.Design of products to meet specifications and packaging constraints.Proof of concept evaluation and technical assessment of design refinements with analytical calculations and stack-ups.Recommending application-specific design changes that meet customer technical requirements.Leading or supporting DFMEA and DVP&R reviews with customers.Supporting analysis of prototype parts for functional performance and failure modes, as well as parts diagnostics on customer vehicles/engines.Leading or supporting all technical meetings with customers/suppliers and appropriate cross-functional teams.Using problem-solving techniques for failure investigation and root cause analysis (8D, FTA, Six Sigma, etc.).Releasing design for various program phases in conformance with product design guidelines and Product Development Processes.Identifying new concepts that address weaknesses within our current product portfolio or technology roadmap.Providing product support for improved quality, manufacturing efficiency, or design cost reductions.Coordinating projects with multinational working groups.Global Terms of Use and Privacy Statement: Carefully read the BorgWarner Privacy Policy before using this website.#J-18808-Ljbffr
