The Central Operations Area Manager ensures positive interactions between Amazon Delivery Stations, third-party companies, and CO Operators and delivers on operational objectives.Through the use of tools, management of a team, and coordination with various partners, this Area Manager (AM) role requires the skills to decide independently which actions to take for short term decisions and limited supervision for medium to long term.These decisions impact the EU AMZL capacity management and 24HR, 48HR, and Same Day (SD) Out For Delivery (OFD) WAPE.Area Managers in AMZL Central Ops will lead a team of up to 25 associates on shift, and circa 6 direct reports, serving as problem solver and primary escalation point for the team and other stakeholders.They will also provide periodic updates to Program Managers about the status of the operation or any major escalations, maintaining a full understanding of workflow and daily metrics goals, allocate labor and train new associates, drive continuous improvement, and enforce SOP compliance and SLA response times.Responsibilities:Develop and maintain strong communication processes to ensure smooth and efficient flow of accurate information across Amazon teams, providing visibility on actions and reasoning to earn trust from stakeholders.Remain impartial to focus on the bigger picture without bias.Scale services, tools, and processes that will enable business growth in CO footprint, complexity, and geographic dispersion while still maintaining a high bar for the customer experience.Work closely with the Supply Chain team in areas including Sales and Operations Planning, DSPM, and Ops leadership to align and execute the strategy at DS and country level.Work with technical and business teams to optimize planning, execution, process improvement, and track progress against goals.Identify, assess, and mitigate risks, drive resolution of critical issues, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, proposing corrective actions to keep initiatives moving forward.Maintain and report up to date and accurate KPIs, management reports, and analysis (DBR / WBR / Intra-week reports).The designated shift pattern for this role is rotative (Sun - Thu and Tue - Sat) each 12 weeks. Time: 12:50 to 21:00 CET.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, Science, or related fields.Problem solving skills and the ability to quantitatively analyze challenges, scope technical requirements, and effectively prioritize program deliverables.Fluent English (written and verbal communication).Experience with performance metrics and process improvement with demonstrable problem solving and analytical skills.Advanced working knowledge of Excel.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Understanding of Logistics operations is a plus.Proven track record leading teams of 10+ people.Strong logical thinking, analytical skills, and problem solving skills.Working experience on programming and coding languages (SQL or Python).
