Introduction to the vacant position: The Smart Nano-Bio-Devices Group is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to investigate the therapeutic potential of active nanoparticles for translational applications.
The contract will be within the framework of the ERC Consolidator Grant named iNanoSwarms, which aims at studying the collective behaviour of active nanoparticles (swarming intelligence), their cooperative motion, and their application as drug delivery systems.
Our group has extensive expertise in active nanoparticles, spanning from fundamental research to innovative biomedical applications.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced researcher with a background in nanomedicine, drug delivery, nanoparticles, or closely related fields.
The ideal candidate will advance and/or lead ongoing research lines or introduce new directions in applying nanobots to biomedicine.Main tasks and responsibilities:Test and evaluate the therapeutic effect of active nanoparticles in vitro and in vivo.Study the physico-chemical interactions of nanoparticles with biological fluids.Study the mechanism of action of drug loading nanobots in vitro.Guide bachelor, master, and PhD students.Interaction and reporting within the group and with private foundations and companies.Actively work in the development of new ideas that give rise to future and/or evolution of projects and generation of intellectual property.Requirements for candidates:Essential:PhD in the field of biology, biomedicine, pharmacy, nanomedicine, biochemistry or nanobiotechnology.Experience with cell cultures (cell lines and primary cells).Experience with confocal microscopy.Experience with flow cytometry.Knowledge on nanoparticles or on self-propelled nanoparticles will be a plus.Competencies and skills: Communication, Teamwork and collaboration, Commitment, Proactivity, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking.
