Position Summary: The Global Clinical Operations Senior Trainer is responsible for end-to-end instructional design and delivery across relevant GCO roles and functions.
This includes the development of training content, facilitation and/or delivery of training, knowledge management, serving as a training point of contact, and collaborating with key stakeholders.
Consults with management, employees, and departments to identify training needs and achieve the end result of an effective training solution.
Implements measurement methods for evaluating training effectiveness against the needs of the business.
Suggests improvements to training events, programs, and materials to improve effectiveness and meet the evolving needs of the business.
Principal Responsibilities: Training and Knowledge Management: Understands intended training roles and competencies to connect training content and approaches to delivery as part of onboarding and development activities of trainees.
Supports the design, development, deployment, and administration of training programs that support internal business objectives.
Keeps abreast of training and development research, new materials, methodologies, and utilizes new/creative training modalities for delivery of training.
Manages instructional design in creating, delivering, maintaining, and evaluating instructor-led and eLearning training programs in support of training initiatives and educational programs.
Obtains feedback and evaluates data from training programs and makes recommendations for changes to materials.
Collaborates internally and externally to ensure training items are appropriately set up, deployed, and/or retired and stores documents accordingly to departmental procedures.
Contributes to shaping the approach that will support continuous learning and knowledge management.
Performs other duties as assigned by department leadership.
Training Point of Contact: Serves as a point of contact within the region for role-based training questions.
Collaborates with local and central business partners to support inspections and office audits as needed for GCO training insights.
Defines, produces, and analyzes GCO staff training related data/metrics, as applicable.
Collaboration with Key Stakeholders: Routinely connects with training peers to ensure globally aligned training program.
Works directly with training coordinators for calendar management and digital experts for high-quality delivery modalities.
Interacts with supporting vendors to support development and delivery of training.
Routinely connects with champion/SME networks to ensure proper support network for content and training delivery is in place.
Engages with BRQC BPME and Training Curricula owners, as applicable.
Routinely connects with trainees for direct feedback and continuous training improvement.
Liaises with end-users, process owners, business owners, quality representatives, IT support, and other functions supporting training activities.
Principal Relationships: The GCO Senior Trainer has a reporting line into the GCO Training Lead and is a member of the global GCO Training Center of Excellence.
May serve as a back-up for GCO Training Lead.
Qualifications: Education: A minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Science (BSc) or Arts (BA) or 8-10 years relevant experience equivalent is required.
A minimum of 6 years of previous Pharmaceutical Industry experience is required, with at least 3-4 years of training experience.
Related Experience: Knowledge of the overall drug development process.
Well-developed skills and knowledge of core GCO business processes and practices (i.e., SOPs and Systems governing clinical research activities).
Ability to translate data into information and strategies into executable action plans improving the business.
Ability to motivate professional colleagues and stakeholders.
Ability to independently plan, organize, coordinate, manage and execute assigned tasks.
General understanding of adult learning principles & practices, and instructional design for various modalities.
Knowledge of current instructional theories and principles applicable to both online and instructor-led learning programs.
Soft skills knowledge.
Strong personal leadership skills with demonstrated competency interfacing with all levels of the organization including senior leaders; Strong networking and relationship building skills; Ability to create an open and inviting environment; Embraces generational and DE&I differences.
Experience in R&D process requirements to successfully drive training productivity, strategy optimization, process improvements and efficiencies including optimal development and management of training content, approaches, and delivery.
Demonstrated project leadership skills.
