Business Unit Manager (Spain & Portugal) is responsible for ensuring that the business unit is meeting strategic and quantitative goals that contribute to the overall success of the business.
Key AccountabilitiesDefines the objectives and the strategy for the Business Unit.Plans the different Marketing activities (congresses, stands, workshops, product launches, scientific sessions, etc.
), managing the corresponding budget.Participates in the preparation of the Budget and takes co-responsibility for their achievement, following up on sales and margins, as well as controlling expenditures (ATG's, travel expenses, and Marketing).Develops and controls the OI's budgets (investments) of the BU.Supervises the profitability of commercial operations and customers, making corrective proposals in case of deviations.Supervises the development of the tenders, both the technical and economic parts.Responsible for finding new business opportunities.Ensures compliance with quality system requirements: procedures, audits, implementing corrective actions, etc.Selects the staff that integrates the Business Unit, carries out evaluations, and fixes remuneration (fixed, variable, and awards) in accordance with the Company's remuneration policy.Along with the AM, selects the goals to achieve in each area, aligned with the strategic lines of the Company, collaborating in the design of the actions that will lead to its achievement.Maintains a close relationship with different KOLs, carries out visits to customers, and encourages collaboration agreements, in coordination with the corresponding AM.Controls the training level of the different members of the Business Unit as well as the sales network.Maintains a high level of motivation, encouraging teamwork.Distributes responsibilities, plans meetings, and manages the group to ensure support for the sales network at all times.Searches constantly for organizational improvement for the Business Unit.Participates in innovation forums that guarantee the continuous evolution of the BU.Stays updated with technological innovations that can be applied to the processes and products of the BU.Ensures compliance with the Werfen Code of Ethics.Networking/Key RelationshipsCommercial team: AMs, KAMs, and SASTechnical Service & HelpLineLogistics and Customer ServiceHuman ResourcesContractingQuality Assurance and Regulatory AffairsLegal, Finance, and ComplianceMinimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the PositionEducation: Bachelor's Degree in Medicine (MD), Microbiology, Pharmacology, Medical Technology, or related clinical discipline, desired in infectious diseases.
Additional degree in business administration, marketing, or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Minimum three years' experience in the IVD field.
Experience related to clinical microbiology laboratory valuable.
Experience related to ER, ICU, and primary care valuable.
