Technical Consultant I, Buildings & Master Planning
Role Context:
We are seeking a creative master planner with around 3-7 years' experience who has a passion for developing their architectural master planning skills within an industrial context. As an industrial master planner, you will contribute to developing the next generation of lower carbon industrial projects worldwide, bringing together sustainable design principles, smart city technology integration and world class user experiences to create amazing places to work.
You will support senior master planners and project managers in the ideation and project creation process to ensure our customers and people receive cutting edge development strategy and spatial planning across industrial-related facilities located within the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region.
You will ideally have experience in development infrastructure and master planning having contributed towards architectural delivery of complex development projects across EMEA. Industrial master planning experience is highly beneficial and advantageous.
This is a diverse role with great opportunity to develop leadership skills and be entrepreneurial to innovate and apply new master planning techniques with our customers and people.
You'll be:
Collaborate in a global master planning network with the combined goal to support and grow the industrial master planning service offer across all regions.
Report to the Master Planning Practice Lead for EMEA, based in London, UK.
Contribute towards the preparation and delivery of strategic industrial master plans, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, due diligence and client-side technical advisor roles for various low carbon industries.
Support the concept master planning of greener and next generation industry projects providing coordination and integration of various technical teams across the Worley business.
Help guide strategic site selection studies and multi-criteria assessments.
Apply design thinking principles to the master planning process to define, assess and develop appropriate solutions that are human-centric and balancing the needs of people and planet.
Integrate Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) into the spatial master planning process, finding innovative solutions to make facilities greener, more user centric and efficient.
Collaborate with other Worley Consulting business lines of TIL, Environment & Water (E&W), and Energy, Chemicals & Resources (ECR), to cross-sell and enhance the client service offer.
Be passionate and willing to integrate AI and generative design capabilities in the master planning process.
Be willing to travel on business and have a desire to experience different cultures and ways of working.
You'll have:
A few years of experience in a relevant consulting, planning or architectural practice.
Experience in "Design Thinking" and user-centric design principles.
Excellent communication skills (graphically and verbally).
Be a strategic thinker, curious, analytical, and interested in outside-box solutions.
Be collaborative and comfortable in group workshop environments.
Always seeking innovation and continual improvement.
Understand the importance of clear narrative and story-driven approach.
Ability to travel.
Assist in the use of technology in improving delivery and performance.
Good working knowledge of 3D design software (i.e., BIM, Adobe Creative Suite, Revit, Rhino and AutoCAD).
Knowledge of AI generative design tools and capabilities is beneficial.
Knowledge of scripting tools (such as Grasshopper) is beneficial.
Fluent English communication skills (spoken & written).
