OW a controlled 50/50 joint venture between EDP and Engie is looking for a analytical and result-oriented Metocean Intern .Are you willing to join a passionate and high performing team, in a cross-cultural, fast-paced, and strongly gr OW ing environment?GENERAL DESCRIPTIONYou will be responsible for assessing the metocean and wind conditions of our future floating and bottom fixed offshore wind farms all over the world oceans.
There is an open position to work on the development of a framework to use machine learning techniques for metocean Site Characterization.
Site Characterization is the cornerstone of the metocean analysis, it is the scope of work related to the analysis of the wind, the waves, ocean currents and other atmospheric variables.
We would like to apply Machine Learning techniques to 1.
Identify outliers within the metocean observations 2.
Correct systematic errors of the simulations Numerical simulations are used to generate a climate time series of metocean observations.
However, given their limitation to describe the model space accurately, there are eventually systematic errors that would need to be removed.
Measurement campaigns conducted on site will be the most valuable information in order to identify these errors.MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIESLearn about metocean site characterization, observations and simulations.Work on the development of a frameworks that compare and correct errors within the simulations.GitHub repository managementDocumentation of the processes through markdownSupport the development of the Floating LiDAR campaigns databaseDesigning the right wind & metocean campaign at each site under development accordingly to the company's pipeline and project's budget.ACADEMIC BACKGROUNDMaster's degree in mechanical, environmental or civil engineering, physics, mathematics, statistics or similar disciplines.LANGUAGESStrong command of English language (written and spoken).PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
