Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or an approved LVN program2. Current nursing licensure in good standing with the State licensing board3. Strong communication and organizational skills4. Ability to provide quality patient care in accordance with applicable standards, policies, and procedures5. Ability to identify and report problems, use initiative and good judgment to reach quality decisions6. Comprehensive knowledge of applicable nursing principles and practices to ensure the quality of care standards for residents7. Willingness to work with professional and non-professional personnel. Proficiency in the English language including the ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the language with minimal to no difficulty8. Valid CPR certificationGeneral Duties and Responsibilities:GENERAL1. Provides nursing care as prescribed by physician/health care professional in accordance with the legal scope of practice, any Board of Licensing restrictions, and within established standards of care, policies, and procedures2. Administers professional services and provides care consistent with allowing residents to attain or maintain their highest practicable physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Provides clinical data and observations to contribute to the nursing plan of careCLINICAL1. Admits, transfers, and discharges residents in accordance with policy and procedure2. Orients new residents/families as necessary3. Gives/receives nursing reports upon beginning and ending of assigned shift. Reviews daily patient report and assignments with Nursing Assistants upon the beginning of assigned shift4. Assures that the unit area is maintained in a clean and safe manner for resident comfort and convenience5. Conducts daily resident rounds to observe the resident's physical and emotional status6. Collects clinical data and reports significant clinical findings according to policy7. Records care information accurately, timely and concisely. Completes all required documentation including resident observations, interventions, and patient response(s) in the medical record in accordance with policy8. Assists in developing, reviewing, revising, and updating resident Plans of Care as indicated9. Receives and transcribes orders accurately from attending/alternate physician10. Prepares/administers medications as ordered by the physician and within the legal scope of practice11. Completes medical treatments as indicated and ordered by the physician12. Evaluates response and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatments in accordance with the policy13
