Job Description Summary: The production manager (PM) position is a brewer leadership position at Garage to oversee all of our beer production, consulting with the head brewer and ownership.
The PM will ensure that production, process & quality goals are achieved as we work towards our business goals.
This position will oversee cellaring, packaging, maintenance, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), and production planning.
Ensuring a safe workplace, meeting production requirements, promoting quality improvement targets, operating as sustainably as possible, and having a mindset of achieving excellence will be of paramount importance.
Responsibilities and Duties: Lead a production staff capable of meeting/exceeding the goals of the brewery.
Recipe development ensuring a monthly release schedule of exciting new beers.
Provide relevant training, coaching, and mentoring to team members.
Work closely with the head brewer to generate daily production schedules and ensure that they are met.
Interact routinely with the sales management team to ensure production schedules meet customers' needs while balancing stock and packaging inventory.
Work with the production team to develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all aspects of production: brewing, cellaring, packaging, maintenance and QA/QC.
Develop and maintain proper yeast management practices to ensure consistent fermentations that meet quality standards and keep pace with desired production goals.
Oversee sanitation and upkeep of all production facilities, cellaring and packaging area.
Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program for all equipment to maximize overall production efficiency.
Job Requirements: Demonstrates a mastery of the production process.
Management or assistant management level experience in a production brewery.
2-3 years minimum of some kind of leadership experience, preferably in the craft beer industry Exceptional analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Formal education and/or equivalent professional brewing/food production experience.
BS or BA in Business, Management, Operations, Engineering or Chemistry is preferred.
A strong understanding of process controls Extensive knowledge of food/brewing industry compliance standards like HACCP Excellent computer based skills Familiar with the operation and maintenance of the following: steam boiler, fork-lift, mill, canning line, brew-house, cellar, pumps and various process controls.
Preferably fluency in Spanish & English, Catalan a plus.
Periodic attendance to pour our beers at national & international beer festivals, including our own festival, MASH.
