Location: Spain, AlmeriaPosition: Research Breeding Master | PhDIn this role, you play a part in the development of the next generation of successful varieties, splitting your time between the office, the field, and the greenhouse.
You are responsible for all kinds of breeding tasks such as monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on the various selection and variety trials, both at home and abroad.
You are additionally involved in planning and organizing the breeding activities and further improving them where necessary.
Besides making a contribution within your own team, you also work in close collaboration with other departments such as crop care, production, and sales/marketing.
Ultimately, the best varieties are chosen for our customers in conjunction with the local sales teams.We are looking for:Breeder with at least 5 years' experience in this positionMaster or PhD in BreedingInterest and affinity with the horticultural sectorGood command of the English languagePassion for genetics, high level of accuracy, keen eye for detail, and a pragmatic approachEnjoyment in analyzing data and looking for creative solutionsGood organizational skills and ability to maintain a clear overviewAbility to work both as part of a team and autonomouslyStrong communication skills and consultative decision-making styleAbility to assess the value of new breeding concepts and translate them into feasible breeding projectsWillingness to travel abroad regularly due to the international nature of the roleWhat can you expect from us?As a Breeder, you will receive an extensive period of training, which will introduce you to all aspects of breeding.
