Our Hexworks studio is currently working on The Lords of the Fallen, the highly ambitious follow-up to the original 2014 hit. Steering the franchise in a new direction towards dark fantasy, the action role-playing game will feature a fully revised, challenging combat system, and promises to be CI Games' most ambitious project currently in development!
Underdog Studio is the internal development team responsible for the highly successful and long running Sniper Ghost Warrior series. We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive Narrative Designer to join our busy Hexworks studio and support driving our games forward.
Key Responsibilities: As a Narrative Designer of the next instalment in the Lords of the Fallen action-RPG franchise, you will have the opportunity to weave compelling and immersive tales of dark fantasy which players will yearn to uncover.
Build the World Research and gain a thorough awareness of existing project lore to help ensure narrative accuracy and cohesion.Assist in creating new narrative elements while simultaneously further developing existing elements already established. Create the Story Create various types of narrative-driven text required for the project, whether menu text, item names, world lore, character backgrounds, or full, character-driven scenes.Implement designed narrative content via internal tools. Collaboration and Maintenance Communicate and collaborate with the rest of the narrative department as well as other departments within the company.Champion the project's narrative vision to other departments.Create and maintain clear and accessible documentation of various types.Fix reported bugs where appropriate. Key Requirements:At least 3 years experience in Narrative Designer or other relevant role within the games industry.A passion for writing and interactive storytelling, especially if in souls-like or dark-fantasy genre, is a big plus.Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.Ability to manage workload effectively and meet project timelines.Open-mindedness to constructive feedback and a willingness to adapt.Strong eye for detail and accuracy.Capable of both collaborative and independent work.Understanding of how narrative can complement gameplay and vice versa.Experience with Unreal Engine and industry-standard project management tools such as Confluence, Miro, etc. is beneficial. We'll finish this call with some admin questions.There will be an opportunity for you to ask any questions as well.After the initial call, usually 1 or 2 interviews with the hiring team follows. These interviews will be a bit more technical and will go deeper into your experience, skills & knowledge. As you would have signed an NDA by now, you'll also learn a bit more about the project you would work on. During these interviews we'll also focus on finding out whether you're a good fit for our company culture and that we share the same values.We may or may not ask you to do the writing test - this is decided on an individual basis and you will receive instructions with the test.If everything goes well, the last step in the recruitment process is the offer presentation call with the Talent Acquisition Specialist and your future line manager to discuss the offer and next steps to get you successfully on board.
