The Regional Operations Engineering is the team responsible to provide a daily technical support to Service Operations over Vestas LATAM fleet, answer technical inquiries from our customers related to blades, support the local solution development applied to our fleet, propose improvements and apply global updates in a centralized process, ensure proper technical solution deployment for our sites, ensure correct main components and material selection for field application and pursue LPF reduction.ResponsibilitiesIn this role you will be part of the ROE Blades team, working closely with the blade team to provide technical support and assistance to the service department with operational key focus and priority.
You will be able to apply your blade engineering experience, combined with high-quality planning, organizational and communication skills to develop a team of Blade Technicians regionally to implement your tasks.Provide 1st level technical troubleshooting support to Service (Vestas non-Vestas Wind Turbine)Provide onsite and back-office support on the blade damages assessment and repair methodsTravel on a need basis to wind farms in order to enable direct issue resolution, supervision, or development of Blade techniciansProvision of ad-hoc support to validate the Component Inspection Report (CIR) related to blades in the sub-region as well as approve CIR's.Escalation of complex issues to the LATAM blade team, support the blade team where appropriate through issue resolutionSupport the sub-regional Service operations to create local job-specific documentation like JSA, method statements or proceduresSupport the sub-regional Service operations to ensure best practice is followed when conducting blade inspections or repairsEscalation of topics to the Global Engineering team and provide information as neededTo be a technology expert supporting the Vestas LATAM region related to blades.QualificationsGraduate Degree in Science of Materials, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or similarExperience within the wind power industry with blades and correlated processes as main working area, will be a requirementDesirable knowledge in composite regarding materials, analysis and manufacturing processesSignificant experience with inspection and repair of bladesProficient in English both written and spokenDesirable Experience on blade damage assessment will be highly valued #J-18808-Ljbffr
