Position Overview CRH is looking for a Sustainability Analyst to join the Strategy, Sustainability and Innovation (SS&I) team.
The SS&I team provides future-focused insight on the trends impacting the construction industry to complement CRH's existing strategic expertise and local market know-how.
The team's aim is to support the development of a strategy with sufficient flexibility to enable CRH to adapt ahead of time to shifts in the external environment and to continue to deliver sustained value-creating growth - growth that is based around the provision of innovative solutions for our customers' needs and that is consistent with a sustainable built environment.
Innovation is a key enabler of CRH´s growth and sustainability ambition, and working in the SS&I team you will support the acceleration of internal innovation at CRH.
Reporting to the VP of Strategy, Sustainability, and Innovation, this role can be based at one of four corporate offices in the USA or Europe (New York or Atlanta, Dublin, Ireland, Madrid).
As an SSI analyst, you will play a role in advancing the critical agendas of Enterprise Strategy, Sustainability, and Innovation at CRH.
You will help to develop the capability to systematically explore and understand future market and industry trends that will impact the construction industry and so support CRH's ability to create value.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities In this role, you will work on project-type activities across the areas of Enterprise Strategy, Sustainability, and Innovation with recurring tasks including:
Monitoring macroeconomic, technological, sustainability, and social news and trends Conducting analysis of trends, industry data, and competition Identifying and understanding implications of construction trends and competitive dynamics to articulate potential scenarios Quantitatively assess the implications of findings, including financial analysis where relevant Rolling out of Sustainability initiatives and support the delivery of CRH´s sustainability ambitions, helping to shape a more sustainable built environment Supporting Sustainability reporting Supporting internal and external innovation activities Completing research on target technology, ventures, or businesses Key Functional Competencies and Relevant Experience To be successful in this role you will need to be educated to degree level ideally with relevant postgraduate or technical qualifications or equivalent in business, finance, engineering, science, or economics.
It's envisaged that you will have around 2 to 3 years' experience of working in a similar role, perhaps in a consulting organization as a business analyst or equity analyst, both of which would be considered advantageous.
If you have good systems capabilities and/or an interest in technology that would also prove useful in this role.
Of course, you will be a proficient user of Office365 with BI tool experience an added advantage.
As stated, the role can be based out of one of four CRH corporate offices in New York and Atlanta (USA), Dublin (Ireland), or Madrid (Spain) but there will be ad hoc international travel from time to time according to the demands of the role.
Fluency in English written and oral communication is required, but multi-lingual fluency is a plus.
