The CRG is composed of an interdisciplinary, motivated and creative scientific team which is supported both by a flexible and efficient administration and by high-end and innovative technologies.We are seeking a talented computational expert with experience in next-generation sequencing data, particularly in single-cell transcriptomics and alternative splicing to cover for a leave for three months. The primary goal of the job is to provide support to the projects carried out in the lab. The job will include (but is not restricted to):analysis of alternative splicing and gene expression using single-cell long-read sequencing data,analysis of alternative splicing and gene expression using bulk RNA-seq,identification of genome mutations in WGS data.About the labThe Irimia lab is an international and multi-disciplinary team dually affiliated with UPF and CRG. It focuses primarily on elucidating the role of alternative splicing in vertebrate development and adult function, generally applying explicit evolutionary perspectives. Part of our work focuses on microexons in the nervous system and in endocrine pancreas, a splicing program that we have originally discovered and to which we have made key contributions. In our lab, we combine computational approaches (comparative bulk and single-cell transcriptomics and functional genomics) with experiments using in vitro and in vivo systems.
