Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Bike Mechanic based in Málaga.
The Bike Mechanic will be responsible for bicycle repairs, maintenance, and ensuring the quality of our fleet for cyclists.
Qualifications Bicycle Repair and Bike Maintenance skillsCommunication skills for interacting with customers and team membersExperience with bike repairs and maintenanceKnowledge of different bicycle models and componentsAbility to work in a team and independentlyStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsPassion for cycling and promoting sustainable transportationKey Responsibilities Run a busy and varied professional level workshopEnsure workshop is kept visually to the highest standards at all times including cleaning areaCreate defined workshop layoutContinuous development of entire Hub space to make work easier for the entire teamDefine best ways of working with help and guidance of Hub ManagerCreate workshop processes with Hub Manager as part of development including quality process, ordering process for workshop, and bike wash area processComplete work efficiently without distractions while ensuring second mechanic is supportedWork as part of a solid team and recognize priority workEnsure workshop parts are in stock while looking for best value or alternatives if not availableWork with Hub manager to improve efficiency of workshopHit workshop financial targets with support from the hub manager on how this can be achieved and look for opportunities to upsellHelp the wider team with your knowledge to sell bikes and look at productsRental Fleet Responsibilities Look after and maintain high-end rental fleet (100+ bikes) with second MechanicClean rental bikes and perform safety checks on allEnsure rental bikes are maintained in excellent condition and prepared for customer reservationsMeet and greet customers and ensure they feel comfortable on their rental bikeCustomer Bikes Responsibilities Inspect customer bicycles to identify mechanical issuesDiagnose and repair mechanical problems such as worn-out components, broken parts, and misalignmentsPerform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting partsHave extensive experience with high-end bikesAssemble new bicycles from boxed kits, ensuring all components are properly installed and adjustedReplace or repair defective parts using specialist toolsAdvise customers on bike maintenance, repairs, and potential upgradesTest ride bicycles after repairs to ensure they are functioning correctly and safelyMaintain a clean and organized workshop areaKeep accurate records of repairs and services performedOrder and maintain inventory of bicycle parts and suppliesStay updated with the latest bike technology and repair techniquesBy ensuring bicycles are safe and well-maintained, the bike mechanic plays a crucial role in promoting cycling as a reliable and enjoyable mode of transportation.
