Position Summary: The Account Manager (AM) is a key commercial role within the Laboratory Products Division (LPD) of Thermo Fisher Scientific. This is an Account focused role with the primary responsibility for selling and supporting all LPD products. The AM is the primary point of contact and provides sales expertise and drives all LPD commercial activities within the account. You will then use your in-depth knowledge of laboratory products to identify the Customer's specific requirements and match our innovative laboratory products (both equipment and consumables) to the user needs, helping us to win new business, expand our market share and drive long term sales. You will build and handle relationships with a wide range of key partners, not only the Customer, but also our Distributors, Channel Managers, Product Specialists, and senior Sales Leadership. This is a field-based role, covering East of Spain, and will involve extensive travel on a weekly basis. Major end market focus areas include Academic, Environmental, Industrial, food safety, and Healthcare.
What you will do:
Drive sales and revenue for our Laboratory Products business to meet the agreed business plan.Forecasting, reporting, and monitoring of sales performance.Visits to new and existing customers to promote the Company's products and services.Identify all decision makers and influencers at the customer account and establish relationships as appropriate.Maintain extensive knowledge of the competitive landscape.Prospecting calls to build the sales pipeline and generate leads for the wider Sales Team.Leads and cultivates account relationships to drive expansion and renewals across the full LPD portfolio (Equipment, consumables, services); provides product assistance, consultation, and problem solving to customers as vital and expedites orders.Ensure accurate focus given to Key Accounts, Focus Accounts and Corporate Accounts across your territory.Use the Company CRM to log all opportunities and campaigns and maintain Key Account plans to enhance business at major accounts.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of entire product range and services.Represent the Company at sales meeting and industry exhibitions. Who we are looking for:
Must live within the territory or be willing to relocate at own expense.Valid driving license.Life Science Degree or equivalent experience.Good knowledge of laboratory products (both equipment & consumables).Sales experience within the Laboratory Market.Confirmed experience leading complex, high-value accounts in a matrix environment.Computer proficiency in MS Office, CRM.An excellent teammate with ability to coordinate activities and influence actions across a Channel team of resources (not direct reports).An influencer, with excellent eye for business, negotiation, and account leadership skills.A commercial mentality, good presentation skills and confident in a customer-facing role.Proficient in Spanish and English.Willing to travel extensively, up to 60-80% including frequent overnights.Demonstrate Thermo Fisher Scientific values - Integrity, Intensity, Innovation and Involvement.
