This company seeks a Business Development Manager Operations to help build the operations infrastructure network for their fast-growing startup located in Madrid.
The BD Manager Operations will oversee regions such as Turkey, West Africa, and North Africa.
As the Business Development Manager Operations, you are a strategic thinker and self-starter focused on creating solutions and solving business problems with a consultative sales approach by: Collaborating with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of the venture.
Identifying and assessing potential new service center opportunities and bringing them to life.
Building new service centers from scratch in identified countries (Africa Region, Turkey) and ports (incorporation, service agreement, partnership agreement, acquisition, recruitment, setting-up processes, etc.).
Growing and managing the service centers, e.G., port and inland operations (stevedoring, transit, storage platforms, inland transportation, consignment stocks, etc.).
Growing and managing the international service operations, closing strategic partnerships with inspection companies, insurances, and banks.
Spearheading the development, communication, and implementation of effective growth strategies.
Assuming ownership of entrusted projects and their objectives and leading them to success.
Actively participating in developing the organization and its strategic position in the value chain.
Ensuring the timely delivery of milestones, along with the associated desired output/work quality.
Providing timely, accurate, and complete reports on the operating condition of the infrastructure.
What are we looking for?
Significant working experience (4+ years) in port/inland logistic supply chain management; having built bulk supply chain service companies from scratch.
Relevant industry experience in the concrete, cement, or raw material production industries or other B2B industries is a plus.
Proven track record in growing and managing a partner portfolio and achieving established targets.
Able to identify customer needs/pain points to drive mutually beneficial outcomes.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks, changing priorities, and meet deadlines.
Comfortable in a sales-driven environment and able to balance bottom line demands with customer care and relationship management.
Fluency in English (proficiency in French or Turkish, Arabic is a plus).
Availability to travel at least 75% of the time.
