Job Summary:
The DevOps Engineer uses their IT experience to provide hardware, software, and network support to the company. They also provide guidance and support to internal and external employees on a wide variety of technical issues.
Job Responsibilities: Evaluates existing computer systems hardware, and performs system upgradesWork with Development team to design, test, and deploy maintainable systemsIdentify and solve problems impacting critical business operations and develop automation to prevent reoccurrenceAssist in the development of continuous integration, delivery, and automation toolsMaintain Linux environments including OS updates, software deployment, script creation, and backupsDesign and maintain monitoring and alerting for production systems and servicesIdentify necessary hardware and software upgrades and make recommendationsMaintain comprehensive inventory of corporate hardware and licensed softwareEnsure network connectivity on corporate LAN/WAN/WLAN infrastructureMaintain network security via corporate firewall, anti-malware, and user trainingAdminister and troubleshoot Linux server environments via CLIMaintain and ensure proper backups of all critical dataInstalls, integrates, and configures new computer systems and hardware for usersProvide after-hours, on-call support for employees and customers as neededPerforms miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned Additional Qualifications: Working knowledge of DevOps principles and practicesLinux administration experience (CentOS and Ubuntu preferred)Scripting knowledge (Bash, Python, Ruby)Experience with continuous integration and delivery using JenkinsWorking knowledge of orchestration and configuration management toolsExperience with cloud providers and their APIs (AWS preferred)VMWare administration experienceExperience with infrastructure monitoring toolsExperience with VCS (Git preferred)Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking (DNS, DHCP, IP subnetting)Windows administration and supportExperience with PostgreSQL desirableExperience with container technologiesExperience with automated monitoring tools, such as New Relic, desirableStrong problem-solving and multi-tasking skillsEffective written and verbal communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills Company Overview:
