Your Mission

As the VP Sales, you will be responsible for developing and executing Viterbit's sales strategy, building and leading a high-performing sales team, and driving our revenue growth. Reporting directly to the founders, you will work closely with other stakeholders to align sales initiatives with company objectives, identify new market opportunities, and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in sales leadership within the SaaS industry.

You will need to demonstrate resilience in overcoming challenges and navigating the dynamic environment of a growing startup. Acting as a brand ambassador, you will embody the values and vision of Viterbit, ensuring that our reputation and brand integrity are maintained at all times. Moreover, you will behave like a founder, taking ownership of your initiatives, driving innovation, and making strategic decisions that contribute to the overall success and growth of the company.

The Journey in just 5 points

1. Recruitment:

• Dedicate 20% of your time to recruiting top-tier sales reps.

• Ensure that you always have 2-3 great reps in your pipeline and constantly seek out new talent.

• Understand that sales are driven by leads but closed by headcount; we need a strong team to achieve our objectives.

2. Sales Team Support:

• Assist the sales team in closing deals, including working on and closing key deals.

• Identify and resolve issues before they escalate.

• Ensure effective and efficient operations as your team grows from 3 to 10 to 30 direct and indirect reports.

3. Sales Tactics:

• Develop competitive strategies, presentation scripts, and pricing models.

• Coordinate FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt) and anti-FUD efforts.

• Segment customers and optimize collaboration with Demand Gen and marketing teams.

• Provide feedback to Product and Engineering teams to maximize revenue per lead.

4. Strategy:

• Identify target markets and strengthen our market base.

• Decide where to allocate resources for maximum impact.

5. Closing Deals:

• While closing deals is important, it ranks fifth in priority.

• Focus on the strategic and educational aspects of high-profile deals rather than individual sales.

What You Will Bring to the Journey

• Sales Leadership Experience: Experience leading B2B sales function through the Series Seed to Series B+ funding stages is required.

• SaaS Expertise: 7-10 years of sales experience, with at least 3-4 years in high-growth SaaS industry with a mid market/enterprise focus. ACV between 5k to 20k.

• Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team-building skills, with experience in hiring, developing, and retaining top sales talent.

• People Development: Exceptional skills in mentoring others on craft, process, and leadership. You build trust and inspire your team to excel.

• Customer Focus: You are customer-obsessed, detail-oriented, and an enthusiastic team player.
