A private firm owned by a group controlling $6 billion in assets, with a 15-year tenure in technology and real estate development, Prime provides customers with ownership options and dynamic leasing models, defining a true corporate partnership.The Engineering Design Manager reports to the SVP of Development and Construction and is responsible for design decisions related to a portfolio of datacenter projects which can include new construction, phased expansion, retrofits and upgrades, acquisition conversions, mechanical equipment selections, and the development of design standards, processes, and procedures.This role will develop long-term business strategies aligned with key Prime stakeholders to manage the relationship and output of key design partners and equipment suppliers for their assigned projects.Responsibilities:Leads and manages innovation & development, master planning/concept design, standards and technical review.Leads regional design team partners to adopt and accommodate standards and best practices for design.Collaborates with construction and procurement teams to effectively procure, install, and commission design solutions.Collaborates with operations teams to ensure design standards and best practices meet their requirements.Supports Site Operations to troubleshoot/tune existing systems.Develops a roadmap for innovation, investigation of new products and services, and how they will be assimilated into standards.Develops PDC's designs and core design philosophies such as reliability, safety, sustainability, and cost-efficiency with internal and external customers and suppliers.Provides master planning/concept designs as part of PDC's investment planning, review, and approval process.Oversees detailed technical review process with regional design leads to assure that project designs meet the design standards and business case requirements.Opines on proposed deviations to the standards or the requirements.Collaborates closely cross-functionally with Construction, Procurement, Operations, Sales, Product, Marketing, Corporate Development, etc. to represent and develop all data center design requirements.Works closely with Construction, Procurement, and Operations to find a balance between cost-effective solutions and operational sustainability.Meets with customers to understand and incorporate requirements.Leads mechanical design efforts for deployment of new data centers, ensuring corporate standards and customer requirements are met.Interfaces and leads mechanical design consultants and contractors on a per-project basis.Coordinates review process of engineering studies of all types and visits job sites for field investigations and coordination meetings.Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for technical reviews including engineering studies/analyses.
