What You'll do (the role) Summary Lightsource bp is a global market leader in the development, acquisition and long-term management of large-scale solar projects and smart energy solutions.

Lightsource bp is now looking for a Land Manager to support the growing needs of our Business.
The Land Manager is a hands-on role responsible for managing the relationship with developers and subcontractors in all the issues in relation to Options, Land Leases, Surface rights, Acquisition agreements, easements or wayleaves or other ways of securing land rights for the projects and their evacuation infrastructure.
Role and Responsibilities In collaboration with the Local Head of Community Engagement, develop the understanding of each local community and establish how best to engage with them in a meaningful manner, establishing strong long-term relationships with individuals, groups, and local councillors in the local community.
Collaboration with the legal department in the elaboration of land agreements.
Negotiation of land right agreements and acquisition of all documentation necessary related with the land agreements.
Review in collaboration with internal and external lawyers the validity of signed agreements checking the ownership tract of the signees and their suitability to be registered.
Lead, or follow-up with external developers, the expropriation processes and crop compensations.
Generate GIS and KMZ maps and produce progress reports for Project Managers and management as required.
Collaborate with the accounts department to fulfil the payment obligations related to the land rights.
Together with the rest of the development, technical and legal teams, suggest possible areas close to the grid nodes to develop new projects and try to secure as much surface as possible to make the projects feasible.
Who we're looking for Knowledge / Experience - An excellent communicator with demonstrated ability to engage with individuals on a one to one or group basis.
- Spanish speaker and fluent in spoken and written English.
- Intermediate IT skills - MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Desirable experience to work with GIS and databases.
- Team player able to work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others to move toward consensus.
- Good organisation and planning skills with high attention to detail.
- Must have the ability to travel 20-50% of the time to active construction sites and operating solar plants.
Education and Qualifications - Minimum 3-5 years relevant work experience in a similar field.
- Bachelor's degree in any field related with land law or territory planning (Law, Agronomy, Forestry, Urban planning), or has equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
